The San Bernardino County Probation Department is comprised of the Central Valley Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center, High Desert Juvenile and Detention Assessment Center, the Gateway Program, and field service offices across the largest county in the United States. There are opportunities and assignments in both sworn and non-sworn positions.

Physical Agility requirements for Probation Corrections Officers and Probation Officers
COMPONENTS OF THE PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST – Probation Corrections Officer/Trainee
- A 99-yard Obstacle Course: Run a 99-yard obstacle course consisting of several turns, a 34-inch obstacle, and a number of curbs
- Body Drag: Lift and drag a 165-pound life-like dummy 32 feet
- Body Lift: Support the weight of a 150-pound life-like dummy for 30 seconds
COMPONENTS OF THE PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST – Probation Officer I/II
- A 99-yard Obstacle Course: Run a 99-yard obstacle course consisting of several turns, a 34-inch obstacle, and a number of curbs
- Body Drag: Lift and drag a 165-pound life-like dummy 32 feet
- Chain Link Fence: Run 5 yards, climb over a 6-foot chain link fence, and run an additional 25 yards
